Kurumbas vs. Jolly Boys: The 3rd Annual Friendly Showdown at Centerway Park

Three years in, and this fixture has become a staple of our calendar.

The Kurumbas and the Jolly Boys are gearing up for our third annual friendly showdown, and if the past two years are anything to go by, October 10, 2026, is going to be a day to remember. We'll be heading down to Centerway Park in Montgomery Village for a full day of great cricket, good food, and even better company.

If you've been around the DMV local cricket scene, you already know what these matchups bring. Both teams feature some of the absolute finest talent in the area, meaning every over is fiercely contested, deeply skilled, and played with total respect. Last year, the Kurumbas managed to take home the trophy after an incredible battle, but both squads are coming into this year's match hungry for a great game and ready to put on a show.

At its core, though, this isn’t just about what happens on the pitch.

This is a true family event. While the cricket will be top-tier, the sidelines will be buzzing with families, kids, good music, and plenty of food to keep everyone fueled up. It's about bringing our community together, catching up outside of regular league fixtures, and letting the kids enjoy a proper day out in the park while the adults battle it out on the turf.
